Martlets Fall to Deerfield

Westminster played inspired basketball for 32 minutes in their final game of the 24-25 season. Although Deerfield ended up winning the game, the boys proved they can play with anyone right now. The Martlets took the early lead on baskets by Bennett Varao ‘27 and Caden Cramer ‘27. Midway through the first half, the score was tied 11-11. Deerfield then went on a 13-5 run to end the half and Westminster trailed 16-24 at the break. Sonny Darnowski ‘28 and Liam Hibbard ‘27 played key roles for Westminster - rebounding, shooting, and causing turnovers. The second half began with a Deerfield run and Westminster found themselves down 40-22. Alex Brown ‘27 hit a three point shot and Westminster finished the game with a 14-7 run. Every player contributed today. Rohan Satpathy ‘27 played great defense and Khang Ngo ‘27 snatched several important rebounds. The boys finished the season playing some of their best basketball.
